Frankenkitten might have had a rough start, but he’s certainly living his best life now! These days, you can just call him Frankie.
This adorably unique cat started life as a stray in Victoria, Australia. After being rescued and taken to a shelter, he started making waves as everyone noticed his extra set of ears!
Unfortunately, Frankie also had a deformed right eye that needed to be removed. Luckily for him, a shelter volunteer named Georgia Anderson decided to foster him while he recovered.
As soon as Georgia brought Frankie home, she knew this sweet kitty was where he belonged. “I’ve probably fostered around 80 cats and kittens in the last year, and he was the first one that I knew I would regret giving back,” Georgia said.
Although his extra ears are unusual, Frankie can hear just like a regular cat. His two larger ears function normally. The two extra ears are pinna only, and don’t have any internal parts. According to Georgia, “There was no medical reason to remove these ears, so they stayed and became part of Frankie’s unique features.”
