If you’re a fan of fluffy cats, I’ve got just the feline friend for you.
I’d like to introduce you to the very majestic and regal Alex, who is a Siberian cat that resides in the Netherlands.
Don’t you just want to bury your face in all that luxurious fluff?
Siberian cats are also known as the Moscow Semi-Longhair Neva Masquerade (try saying that five times fast!). They are Russia’s native forest cat, and first appeared in recorded history around the year 1000. Because they originated in the unforgiving climate of Siberia, they clearly do not mind cold weather or even snow.
Despite the large amount of fur, Siberian cats are surprisingly hypoallergenic. The Siberian’s skin and saliva has less Fel d 1 than most other breeds, which is the protein that affects allergy sufferers.
In all seriousness, he’s just so gorgeous that I’m having a hard time believing that he’s real.
Siberian cats tend to be very playful and adventurous. They love toys, and some will even learn to play fetch. They don’t slow down as adults, either. These lively felines will stay playful throughout their lives.
